Every week is different for me and, like everyone’s experiences, there are good and not so good weeks! I stopped employment earlier this year to become fully self employed, and it means I plan my own time and motivate myself - something I'll admit, I'm not always good at! However, I'm learning and, with the help of others, I'm getting better - and that's why I sat down to write this blog.

I always feel motivated talking to my artists, selling their artwork, and making customers happy. So, on Monday I was delighted to deliver three framed pieces to a customer, who had purchased them after seeing them at the current exhibition at Citizen Hub in the centre of St Neots (the artwork is still on display if you want to take a look!). It was lovely to meet her and her family, and even nicer to receive a message afterwards saying that they were "gorgeous".

All three prints were by Danielle Woodnutt, and included her newest piece 'Lemonie', which I love. It's my favourite artwork of the week because It's so striking and colourful - and it has been the most popular artwork at the exhibition, with lots of comments about the intricate design and bright colours. It really does add a focal point to any room, and can be paired with decor of many colours thanks to its varied palette.

Danielle and I had a conversation this week about some new designs she has started working on, which will be ready and revealed soon, just in time for a certain festive event I am planning. I'm certain that they will be eye-catching and beautiful - I can't wait to see them and show them to you!

I delivered a larger version of the 'Lemonie' print to another customer on Thursday, and she invited me into her house and we had a lovely conversation. She revealed that the print reminded her and her other half of a special event for them, which was so nice to hear. I love the fact that every time they look at the print on their wall, it will remind them of happy times.

In between, on Tuesday and Wednesday, I was in Warwickshire, where we are in the process of clearing out a family member's home in preparation for listing it on the market (hopefully in the new year!). It's a very hard job - tiring and emotional - but I'm lucky I have my family and friends to help and support. I've loved finding old photos and items that belonged to my grandparents, great grandparents and even great great grandparents! We've come across come quirky things too - this is my favourite from this week's visit... a very cool rabbit teapot!

On Thursday, I had a business meeting with Lydia from Leo & Opal, who manages my social media accounts. I really enjoy chatting face to face with her as I find it really motivating - we always come up with some good ideas (as we enjoy a hot chocolate!). She's also a lovely person and we can sometimes natter for a couple of hours about business and life in general. She is a great support at events and is brilliant at capturing photos and videos, which I always forget to do as I am always so distracted - so I highly recommend her services!

We did a deep dive on the performance of our social media posts over the past couple of months, and she reiterated the importance of including the 'human' side of the business in posts - i.e. me! I'm a bit nervous to feature in posts, but I'm trying hard to get more used to it - so that's why I'm revealing a bit more about myself in this blog!

I finished the day with a flu jab! Urgh, it's that time of year!

I spent Friday planning some content for a client - not a gallery customer, but an editorial client. You may not know that before I launched the gallery I was a writer and editor for 20 years, and I'm still writing for odd clients. It keeps me creative and disciplined - plus, I'm currently working with a contact that I worked with in London many years ago, and I'm loving it. The company style suits my writing and I feel confident as the words tumble out.

I ended the week with a visit to a friend's to check on her furry friend - perfect! Here he is being his usual gorgeous, playful self..!
