I was delighted to curate a full exhibition for an exciting art event that took place on Saturday 18th July, 10am - 4pm, at St Neots Golf Club. The event was supported by Purple Horizons, a volunteer-run initiative that raises money and generates greater awareness for local charities and their important work. To date (since 2019), £67,130 has been donated.
This free community event showcased an inspiring collection of artwork from talented artists based in Cambridgeshire and around the UK. Visitors had the opportunity to view and purchase the diverse range of original artwork, with pieces available at a variety of price points to suit all budgets.
The exhibition featured an impressive selection of artistic styles and mediums, from traditional figurative paintings and landscapes to contemporary abstract works – offering something to appeal to every taste. Whether visitors were experienced collectors, looking for a unique piece for their home, or simply enjoy exploring local creativity, it promised to be a welcoming and enjoyable event for all.
This art event was a wonderful celebration of the area's thriving artistic community. Funds raised during the event supported the Golf Club Captain’s Appeal, helping local good causes across Cambridgeshire.
I’m so passionate about supporting art initiatives that bring people together, and I am especially pleased that this exhibition also helped to raise funds for local causes. I was incredibly grateful to our partners, participating artists, volunteers, and supporters who helped to make this event possible.
Angela Kenyon from Purple Horizons added: “We were delighted to support At First Sight Gallery and St Neots Golf Club to bring together an inspiring exhibition showcasing talented local artists alongside artwork from further afield. We are grateful to everyone involved in making this event possible and proud that it has helped to raise funds for important local causes."
